I receive hundreds of messages like these every day.<\/p>\n

The most incredible part is that some of them don\u2019t even say, \u201cHi, I\u2019m such-and-such. Can I ask you a question?\u201d<\/p>\n

Nope, nothing like that.<\/p>\n

They directly launch their question, even if they\u2019ve introduced themselves.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, it\u2019s impossible for me to respond to all the questions I get.<\/p>\n

If I tried to do it, I wouldn\u2019t have a personal life. Imagine responding to 100 or 200 questions every day.<\/p>\n

I have a job. A family. And various other irrelevant things to worry about.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Many of the questions are repeated.<\/p>\n

Time and time again people ask me the same questions. That\u2019s when I decided to write an article about the topic and whoever asks me the question again, I send them to the article.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a system that has worked pretty well for me for the last few months.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One of those questions that I kept receiving pretty frequently in the last few months is the following.<\/p>\n

“Carina, I did a straightening treatment and now I have <\/em>dandruff<\/em>.<\/u><\/em>“<\/em><\/p>\n

“Carina, two months ago, I did a Brazilian straightening treatment. I started getting dandruff. What can I do?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

And hundreds of versions of the same question.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They are all from people that have done some type of hair treatment that caused dandruff.<\/p>\n

The treatment they have done isn\u2019t important.<\/p>\n

It could be an permanent straightening, a Brazilian keratin, a hair botox<\/a> or any other.<\/p>\n

The question is that some days or weeks after getting the treatment done, dandruff appears.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first reaction is usually surprise and hopelessness because they\u2019ve never had dandruff before.<\/p>\n

Is it normal for dandruff to appear after a treatment? Many people ask me.<\/p>\n

Yes it\u2019s normal.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It happens to a lot of people.<\/p>\n

What happens is that nobody goes around talking about how in life they have dandruff, and definitely not after they\u2019ve just done such an expensive treatment.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s as if someone was talking about how a diet they were on to lose weight wasn\u2019t giving them results. People talk when they start a diet, and when they lose weight, but no one tells their family and friends that the diet isn\u2019t working.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With hair straightening and dandruff, something similar occurs. A treatment can cost 100-200 dollars according to the country where you live. The fact that dandruff appears is not great news after investing such a large sum of money.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why no one goes around saying it to their friends.<\/p>\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Why does dandruff appear after a straightening or keratin treatment?<\/h2>\n

Generally, it\u2019s a reaction that comes about when the chemicals from the straightening treatment mix with the products that we use to wash our hair. <\/strong><\/span>This is the main reason, but not the only one.<\/p>\n

For many women that have this problem it\u2019s because they\u2019ve gotten a poor-quality treatment done. Many salons use generic-brand products that are poor quality to reduce costs.<\/p>\n

Using poor-quality products increases the possibilities that dandruff will appear after the straightening treatment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, now you know, the next time you get a treatment, it\u2019s best to choose a high-quality salon that works with brand products.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That way, you reduce the chance that that annoying dandruff will appear.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is there a solution for dandruff?<\/p>\n

That is what we are going to talk about now.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How to get rid of dandruff that comes from a permanent straightening or Brazilian keratin treatment?<\/h2>\n

\"head<\/p>\n

Dandruff produced by a straightening treatment is treated in the same way that you would treat any other type of dandruff.<\/p>\n

There are various ways of doing so.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first and not always the most effect is to use one of the classic anti-dandruff shampoos<\/a> that are sold in super markets.<\/p>\n

For me, it\u2019s the most practical method, but not the most effective.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It\u2019s practical because buying a shampoo in the grocery store is very easy to do. You just have to replace your actual shampoo for whatever anti-dandruff shampoo you choose.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not effective because those shampoos usually just get rid of the dandruff for a short amount of time. Some people wash their hair with these shampoos and soon after ,they already have dandruff.  <\/span>\n

In this way, in order for your hair to stay dandruff-free, you would have to wash your hair various times a day<\/a>. Let\u2019s agree that that\u2019s not very practical.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A better and more effective solution is to turn to one Grandma’s famous recipes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"to<\/p>\n

They are recipes with ingredients that you can find in any kitchen in any house. If you don\u2019t have the ingredients in your kitchen, all you have to do is go to the store and buy them. And as you\u2019re going to see now, they are all things that are easy to get.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Batman\u2019s enemy is the Joker.<\/p>\n

Superman\u2019s enemy is Lex Luthor.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also had my enemies for my whole life. When I was in kindergarten, I had a classmate, and we hated each other.<\/p>\n

We couldn\u2019t even see each other.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What is dandruff\u2019s biggest enemy?<\/p>\n

Lemon<\/p>\n

But in this case, the enemy is our best ally. Lemon is what is going to help us balance the ph. of our hair and repair the health of our scalp.<\/p>\n

Lemon is one of the best natural ingredients to fight dandruff produced by straightening treatments. And dandruff in general, of course.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The best part about lemon is that it\u2019s very easy to find and it\u2019s inexpensive. Also, it leaves a great smell in your hair.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How to use lemon in your hair?<\/h2>\n

\"to<\/p>\n

It\u2019s very easy.<\/p>\n

So easy, even my 8-ear-old daughter uses this technique every once in a while.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We squeeze a lemon and mix it with the same proportion of room-temperature water.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Once we have the mixture, we are going to apply it to our hair putting special emphasis on the roots of the hair and on the scalp.<\/p>\n

The roots of the hair are the most delicate because that\u2019s where dandruff is produced.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n NOTE: it\u2019s not necessary to cover all of your hair with the mixture. You can do it if you want to but covering your whole scalp and your roots is enough.  <\/span>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are going to let the mixture sit on your hair for 5 minutes. After, we rinse it off and wash your hair if it\u2019s necessary.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How often should you apply the lemon on your hair?<\/p>\n

It depends on how intense the dandruff is.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If at first you have a lot of dandruff, you\u2019ll probably need 2-3 applications a week during the first few weeks.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have a lot of dandruff, you can start with 1 time a week. In the end, the important part is to keep trying until you find a frequency of use of the lemon that fits the needs of your hair.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What shampoo is best to combine with this technique?<\/h2>\n

Check dandruff shampoo price on Amazon<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I like the Art Naturals dandruff shampoo because it’s sulfates free, and infused with natural oils.<\/p>\n

The idea is that the shampoo functions to complement the lemon and not to make things worse. It wouldn\u2019t make much sense to make a lemon mask to then ruin the eventual improvement using an aggressive shampoo for our hair.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A coherent plan to attack dandruff would be more or less like this<\/h2>\n

      Third Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

      • Wash your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo<\/li>\n
      • Use the lemon mask once this week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The idea of this plan is to attach with a lot of intensity at first and to reduce the intensity little by little. That\u2019s why we start with the shampoo + lemon, and then we start reducing the two.<\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        I\u2019m sure that by the third week, you would have the dandruff problem under control, if not before.<\/p>\n
