After years of doing keratin to dominate the frizz in my hair and to get my hair to look tidier, I can assure you that keratin should be left in for between 15 and 30 minutes. The amount of time will greatly depend on the brand of keratin that you use. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, many people have this doubt.<\/p>\n Is it dangerous to leave keratin in your hair for longer than necessary?  <\/span>\n

 <\/p>\n

To respond to this question, I will tell you my experience from a few months ago.<\/p>\n

Do you remember \u201cMoney Heist,\u201d the Netflix series that everyone was talking about?<\/p>\n

I got sucked in from the beginning.<\/p>\n

That professor that came up with such a masterful plan and that at any moment it seemed like everything was going to go to hell. It had me hooked.<\/p>\n

It was the final episode.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, I had done a keratin treatment and I said, \u201cAfter thirty minutes, I\u2019ll stop and it\u2019ll be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

But when you\u2019re trapped in a plot\u2026<\/p>\n

When you feel like if you blink you\u2019re going to miss something important\u2026<\/p>\n

Time doesn\u2019t count.<\/p>\n

So, when I jumped from my seat with the spectacular final of the series, that I won\u2019t tell you in case you haven\u2019t seen it, I touched my hair and remembered that I had done the keratin.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to lie.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While I ran to the bathroom to rinse my hair, I thought that my hair would fall out.<\/p>\n

My scalp would have holes in it.<\/p>\n

And when I used the flat iron, the hair would literally melt away.<\/p>\n

But none of that happened.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n If you leave keratin in for ten, fifteen or twenty minutes more in your hair, nothing bad will happen. <\/span>\n

But don\u2019t abuse it.<\/p>\n

There is a reason for labels on products.<\/p>\n

I think that also, the time has to do with the maximum performance of the product each time that you apply it.<\/p>\n

At least, with dyes that\u2019s what happens.<\/p>\n

There gets to a point where no matter how long you leave the dye it for longer than you need, the hair can\u2019t absorb more and the only thing you achieve is damaging your hair.<\/p>\n

My advice is don\u2019t risk it.<\/p>\n

The longer you leave the keratin in your hair, the results will be the same.<\/p>\n

At any rate, from that experience, I decided to not watch more series when I do the keratin.<\/p>\n
