MEA has a high pH, which makes the cuticle of the hair<\/a> open more easily. This makes it fall out and also makes it so the color doesn\u2019t las as long. But that\u2019s not all, my friend.<\/p>\n

You need 10 times the amount of MEA to get the same results as dye with ammonia. It\u2019s crazy.<\/p>\n

While all dyes can be damaging for your hair, the amount of MEA need makes it even more damaging.<\/p>\n

Side effects of ammonia-free dyes<\/h2>\n

In the end, ammonia-free dyes that contain MEA have some side effects that nobody talks about.<\/p>\n

For example, they can cause dermatitis and hair loss.<\/p>\n

3-<\/strong><\/span> ethanolamine<\/p>\n

Any of these 3 forms can appear on the container.<\/p>\n

If the dye contains MEA, it\u2019s up to you to decide to use it or not.<\/p>\n
