I\u2019ll tell you more about why up ahead, but first, I want to ask you a question.<\/p>\n<p>Why do you want to do highlights without using either a cap or foil?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your answer to this question is essential, and it is what will decide which technique you should choose.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many women think that they can\u2019t do cap or <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/difference-between-foils-and-balayage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">foil highlights<\/a> because their short hair won\u2019t let them, but there\u2019s nothing further from the truth.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;Even if you have short hair, it is totally possible to do classic highlights with a cap or with foil. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Highlights look the best on both short and long hair when you do them with foil or a cap.<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So why would you use another technique?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Maybe you think that getting your short hair through the holes in a cap is too hard.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Or maybe you think that wrapping your short hair in foil is too complicated.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let me tell you that you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both highlights done with a cap and foil are hard to do, especially with short hair.<\/p>\n<p>But let me tell you something else.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The alternative techniques to do highlights that I just named are even harder than both cap highlights and foil highlights.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;But the worst part about the alternative techniques is that they don\u2019t get as good of results. I\u2019d even say that the results are unpredictable at best.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, you have a decision to make.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> You can do your highlights with a traditional technique, like cap highlights or foil highlights.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Or, you can do your highlights with one of the two alternative techniques that I\u2019m about to tell you more about.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you want my advice, unless you have an excellent reason, do your highlights with one of the traditional techniques. I mean that the application method completely determines the final results.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>Let me give you a simple example.<\/p>\n<p>Do you like meat?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a vegetarian, I\u2019m sorry, but this is the best example I can think of.<\/p>\n<p>If you grill meat, it is going to have a very, very different flavor than if you bake it, for example.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the same with highlights.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The result of doing highlights with a comb is very different from if you do them with a cap or foil.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> First and foremost, when you do highlights with a comb, they are going to be wider.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Also, you can only do these highlights on the top layer of your hair. Why?<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Because the mix would stain the rest of your hair if you applied it to an underlayer. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then, there\u2019s the purely practical issues that can affect your results.<\/p>\n<p>When you do cap or foil highlights, if you move around a little bit after you\u2019ve applied the mix, it\u2019s not a big deal.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;But, when it comes to comb highlights, even a little bit of movement can mess up your work. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>Remember that, unlike foil or cap highlights, your hair is down and loose, so if you move a little tiny bit, your hair will also move, mixing with the other parts of your hair where you don\u2019t want the bleach to go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With all that in mind, here\u2019s how to do these highlights step-by-step.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step-by-step how-to do highlights with a comb<\/h3>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> First, you should prepare the bleach mix. Mix a 30 volume developer with bleach powder in a plastic container.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Then, dip the tips of the comb into the mix and run it over your hair, starting at the roots and continuing to the ends.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Let the bleach sit for 20 minutes, then rinse.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Highlights with a squirt bottle applicator<\/h2>\n<p>The second way to do highlights without a cap or foil is with a squirt bottle applicator.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve surely seen that color kits come with a squirt bottle.<\/p>\n<p>This bottle is excellent for retouching your roots, but it can also work for this technique.<\/p>\n<p>But, if you think the comb technique was hard, the squirt bottle technique is even harder.<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s a simple reason for that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;With the comb technique, you can do several highlights at once, while with the squirt bottle, you\u2019ll have to do the highlights one by one. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>You\u2019ll also have to be very, very careful because the bleach mix is thin, so you also have to deal with the possibility that a lot of it might squirt out all at once.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The result is much messier even than the highlights with a comb, and you also can only do it on the top layer of your hair to avoid staining other parts of your hair with the bleach.<\/p>\n<p>And, don\u2019t even think about moving or reading during the application process; you\u2019ll need to be very still.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The other issue with the squirt bottle technique is that a lot of mix can come out at once, and it might fall onto your clothes and bleach them too.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re still willing to try squirt bottle highlights after all that, I\u2019ll tell you how to do them step-by-step.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Prepare the 30 volume developer and bleach powder mix in the bottle.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Close the bottle and put the applicator on. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Por eso el nombre se mi sal\u00f3n es Ponete Linda, ponete linda para vos siempre. Siempre me gust\u00f3 la idea de poder jugar con el cabello la infinidad de posibilidades y los cambios que genera en el autoestima de las mujeres. Siento que el cabello es el marco de la cara, lo que nos da impronta y reafirma nuestra personalidad. Desde tiempos ancestrales el cabello representa la sexualidad femenina. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Por eso el nombre se mi sal\u00f3n es Ponete Linda, ponete linda para vos siempre.
