Well, then I\u2019m sure the first thing you want to do is get rid of it.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the solution is pretty easy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">If you want to get rid of a balayage, all you have to do is use dye to darken the part of your hair that the balayage lightened.<\/span> <\/strong><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hmm, I think you might not be so sure anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Because I think you might have looked in the mirror again and asked yourself, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>\u201cDo I really want to totally get rid of the balayage or do I just want to make it look different?\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s great that you\u2019re asking yourself that because after all the time and <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/does-balayage-always-use-bleach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bleach that you\u2019ve put your hair<\/a> through to achieve the balayage, you\u2019ve exposed your hair to a very aggressive chemical process and you probably want all that work to be worth it.<\/p>\n<p>So, take a few minutes and think about it.<\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you about something that happened to me once upon a time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I was reading a magazine about interior design and I saw this photo that really caught my attention: it was a salon and one of the walls was painted totally black in contrast with other three walls that were painted totally white.<\/p>\n<p>I thought it looked super unique and I thought it might be a good idea to try to give a touch of something different to my salon, which has looked the same for many years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, I decided right away to call a painter and I asked him to get started with painting so I could have my black wall.<\/p>\n<p>Then, two days later, I was totally disappointed. My salon did not look like the photo at all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I hadn\u2019t thought about natural lighting or any of the other design elements that went into the salon in the photo.<\/p>\n<p>Did I try to sell the place because I wasn\u2019t happy with the black wall?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course not!! That would have been an extreme decision to make just because I didn\u2019t like one wall. There are intermediate solutions that are a lot easier than selling the place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s the same with your balayage.<\/p>\n<p>You might have thought that it would look one way and now it looks another.<\/p>\n<p>But before you decide to completely get rid of it, why don\u2019t you consider an intermediate solution?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In my case, with my wall, instead of leaving it black or selling my house, I painted a light gray over the black and that changed everything. Now I love it.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;So, don\u2019t go. Let\u2019s brainstorm together and then you can decide if you really want to completely get rid of your balayage or not. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, take some time to think while I tell you about:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> How to make your balayage stand out less<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> How to make your balayage slowly disappear<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> How to immediately get rid of your balayage <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, I\u2019m going to give you the solutions in order of the least extreme to most drastic, because when it comes to hair fixes, just like in life, there are some gray areas.<\/p>\n<p>And if you don\u2019t believe me, ask my gray wall!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<h2>How to hide a balayage that you don\u2019t like<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19455\" src=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/balayage-salon-profesional.jpg\" alt=\"coloring techniques\" width=\"510\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/balayage-salon-profesional.jpg 510w, https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/balayage-salon-profesional-289x300.jpg 289w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We decided that you\u2019re going first consider other options before you decide to completely get rid of your balayage, but you should also think about why you want to get rid of it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;Maybe you want to get rid of it because you haven\u2019t gotten used to the light colors in the fading effect. That happens to a lot of my clients that aren\u2019t used to seeing their hair with lighter colors.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A lot of women come to my salon, convinced that they want to get a style that will <a href=\"https:\/\/behindthechair.com\/articles\/face-contouring-with-balayage-yeah-its-a-thing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lighten their features<\/a> and they choose a blonde balayage to do that.<\/p>\n<p>When the process is over, they look in the mirror and the big change is a lot for them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The thing is that for most of them, they get used to their new look after a few days of looking at themselves in the mirror.<\/p>\n<p>But, of course, there are a few exceptions and sometimes they come back and tell me that they aren\u2019t comfortable with the look or the blonde just doesn\u2019t go with their style.<\/p>\n<p>And then they come back to the salon, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>thinking that the other possible solution is to get rid of their balayage, right away.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>But, I always offer them another, less-drastic option first.<\/p>\n<p>Can you imagine what it might be?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Exactly!<\/p>\n<p>If the light colors are too much for them, then we can darken the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.matrix.com\/blog\/best-blonde-hair-color-for-your-skin-tone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blonde shade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;Look at yourself again in the mirror because if your balayage is really blonde and you aren\u2019t happy with it, then you could apply another darker dye in the area where the faded effect is. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>If your balayage is an 8 shade, which is known as light blonde, then you can apply a 6, which is dark blonde.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your balayage is a 9 shade, very light blonde, then you could use a 7, which is blonde.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your balayage is more of a platinum color, so an 11, then you could try to use an 8, light blonde for the bottom part.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What will that do?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lessen the balayage effect, darkening your hair a few shades.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the color change won\u2019t feel as dramatic when you look at yourself in the mirror, but you also won\u2019t lose the change that you did originally, which is probably what you were hoping for when you got a balayage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now, what happens if you\u2019re tired of maintaining your balayage?<\/p>\n<p>Keep reading because there\u2019s also an intermediate solution for that before you decide to totally get rid of the balayage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to slowly get rid of a balayage over time<\/h2>\n<p>When you compare to highlights or other techniques, balayage is one of the techniques that requires the <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/low-maintenance-balayage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">least amount of maintenance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In general terms, you can <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>touch up the ends every three months and the roots every two months. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But, I also get that for some people, that might still be too often to worry about touch ups, or the maintenance might be too expensive to keep up with.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;If that\u2019s your case, I\u2019d recommend that you let your hair grow out and you just touch up the roots.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>What will that do for you?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> First, you don\u2019t have to add chemicals to all of your hair, just the ends.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> And, then you\u2019ll also spend a lot less at the salon while your balayage slowly disappears.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But, if you truly are completely tired of your balayage, the only solution you have is the one that I mentioned at the beginning of this article: <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>apply dye and darken the fading effect.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to get rid of your balayage for good<\/h2>\n<p>And yes, of course, when you aren\u2019t totally happy with something, then you can\u2019t just let that be.<\/p>\n<p>I also wasn\u2019t happy with my black wall and I looked for a solution that would let me hide all of all the black.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With a balayage that you truly don\u2019t want, the same thing happens: you should hide it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the only option, because you\u2019ll need to even out all of your hair\u2019s colors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remember that <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>the balayage technique consists of a fading effect in the middle and the ends, which means that it starts with a dark color at the roots and lightens as it gets to the lightest ends.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>What would happen if you used a dark dye on the ends?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You might end up with a total disaster, because you ends might end up darker than your roots.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;That\u2019s why you need to use the dye on all of your hair from the roots to the ends.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>But, how could you choose the ideal shade for getting rid of the balayage?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To get rid of the balayage<strong>, <span style=\"color: #800080;\">you\u2019ll need to choose a shade that\u2019s one shade lighter than your base tone. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> For example, if your balayage starts with a brown 4, then you can choose chocolate 5, which would perfectly cover both your darker base and the lighter faded bottom part of the balayage.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your balayage starts with a chocolate 5, then you can choose dark blonde 6, so that way, you\u2019ll lighten your hair just a little bit and you can cover the difference.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your balayage starts with a dark blonde 6, then you can choose a blonde 5, so that way your hair will look lighter and brighter. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusions<\/h2>\n<p>As you can see, there are a few different ways to get rid of a balayage, from extreme methods to ones that are much easier on your hair.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>If you want to completely get rid of the balayage, then you should dye your hair one shade lighter.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you don\u2019t want to dye all of your hair, you can touch up the roots and let your hair grow out, cutting the faded part as it grows.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you want to tone down the balayage, then you can always darken the faded part of the balayage, making it less light. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Like I told you before, just like in life, gray areas exist in hair care, too.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, you should look in the mirror and ask yourself, \u201cWhat do I want to do with my A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal.
