Do you know why I think that\u2019s the case?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because red is a color that creates a lot of emotion in people. Who could be indifferent to red hair?<\/p>\n<p>I think just about nobody is, because people that have red hair don\u2019t want to go unnoticed; they want to shout to the world, \u201cHere I am and here\u2019s who I am!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the kind of enthusiasm that women that dye their hair red have. And although we recommend starting with softer reds, in the beginning, those women usually start with the brightest reds.<\/p>\n<p>And then, within a few days, they realize that their <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>red is too bright and fiery, and they want to tone it down.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what happened to Caroline who came into my salon, determined to dye her hair bright, attention-grabbing red, or as she put it, \u201cVery red.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And although I thought maybe she\u2019d be better off with a subtler red, like a burgundy, she decided to go for a deeper red.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, after a few days, the deep red was \u201ctoo much,\u201d so she came back to the salon to change it up a bit. Each different shade is marked by a specific number. The cherry reds are the lightest and the darkest ones reach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schwarzkopf.international\/en\/haircolor\/redhair\/burgundy-how-to-wear-the-trend-color.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">burgundy red<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;You should also keep in mind that many brands have their special line of red because each one uses different pigments to get their specific shades of red. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>So, this is my first piece of advice when it comes to toning down your red hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Always choose the same brand of dye<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You should always go for the same brand of dye because if you don\u2019t when you manage to tone down your hair, your color won\u2019t be so vibrant because of the different compositions of the different dyes.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;I recommend that every time you dye your hair red, you cut off a bit of the top of the box it comes in so you can have the brand and shade that you chose at hand. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>What will that help you do?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Always remember which shade of dye you used and which brand of dye it was.<\/p>\n<p>Why is it important to know that?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s very important to know which shade of dye you used so you can always know which shade you should use next time.<\/p>\n<p>For example, a 7.66 cherry red isn\u2019t the same as a 5.66 dark red.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Choose a darker shade of dye within the spectrum of reds<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since red is just another hair color, going down shade is the same for red as for blonde or brown: use a darker dye within the same color spectrum.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;The only difference is that I recommend just going down one shade at a time, rather than two or three since red contains a lot of pigment. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>Do you know why you need to go slower and safer with red?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your hair takes 15 days to get rid of the leftover dye in your hair, so imagine what would happen if you were to all of a sudden use a shade that is two shades darker. Your hair would not be able to absorb it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Choose the right red for toning down your color<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This step is key, so in order to help make sure you don\u2019t mess up, I\u2019m going to give you a few examples:<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you used a 7.66 shade, you should use a 6.66 to tone your hair down.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you used a 6.66, then you should go for a 5.66.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you used a 5.66, then you should go for a 4.66. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Look hard at those numbers, is there something specific about them that raises any questions?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Exactly, if you take a good look at the examples, you realize that the shades go down one full number.<\/p>\n<p>Probably you saw that I didn\u2019t give the same of the shade and that is for a very simple reason.<\/p>\n<p>Each brand has its line of reds, so each brand gives it a special name every year.<\/p>\n<p>So, for us stylists, it\u2019s easier to just go off the numbers. We classify reds as:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Dark red 3.66 \u2013 4.66<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Medium red 5.66<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Light red 6.66 \u2013 7.66<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, the name isn\u2019t so important; what you have to pay attention to is the number.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>You should also keep in mind the tone that goes along with the base shade.<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Besides the base shade number, you should also keep in mind the tone number, and it\u2019s very important not to change that when you go to tone down your hair.<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> For example, if you used a 6.64, you should switch to a 5.64.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you used a 7.67, use a 6.67.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you first used a 5.66, then you should use a 4.66 after.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That way, your hair will look the same as the first dye you used, just one shade darker.<\/p>\n<p>And what happens if you toned your hair down one shade, fifteen days went by and you\u2019re still not happy with your color?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can tone your hair down one more shade. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no.
