Or even worse, misinformed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For example, a person made an appointment in my salon to bleach her hair.<\/p>\n<p>When she got to the salon, I saw that her hair was dyed dark brown, and I thought she wanted to change her color to blonde.<\/p>\n<p>But I was extremely surprised when she told me there was no way she\u2019d go blonde, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>she just wanted to lighten up her brown hair a little bit.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Because what she was looking for was something kinda new, but nothing crazy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I asked her why she had gotten an <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/how-much-does-it-cost-to-bleach-hair-and-color-it-blonde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appointment for bleaching her hair<\/a> if she didn\u2019t want to go blonde, she told me that a friend had told her that she\u2019d need to bleach her hair beforehand to then be able to use a lighter brown.<\/p>\n<p>Ay, no! It really irks me when those friends that don\u2019t know the real facts give that kind of advice. It\u2019s a good thing that my client didn\u2019t end up listening. Can you imagine if she had bleached her hair?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It would have all for nothing because it wasn\u2019t necessary for the change she was looking for and besides, the bleach would have done some bad damage to her hair since her hair was very thin.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;So, in the end, all I did was use a medium brown dye on her hair and we were able to get what she was looking for, in a much, much simpler way than she had imagined.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why if you find yourself in the same situation, don\u2019t go away, because I\u2019ll tell you:<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> What dye to choose to go from dark brown to medium brown<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> How to use that dye on your hair<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ready to lighten your hair?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to go from dark brown to medium brown \u2013 which dye you should use<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23115\" src=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tintes-en-kit-supermercado.jpg\" alt=\"use 20 volume peroxide\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tintes-en-kit-supermercado.jpg 500w, https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tintes-en-kit-supermercado-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tintes-en-kit-supermercado-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Like I said in the beginning, to lighten your hair from dark brown to medium brown, you only need to use dye.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;Just like my client, you probably thought that the transition would be much more difficult; however, it\u2019s not because we\u2019re only talking about lightening your hair one shade. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>In colorimetry, there is a color table <\/strong><\/span>that all the international brands use.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve probably noticed that on color kits besides a beautiful model, there is also a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lorealprofessionnel.com\/int\/concern-hair-colour\/what-does-the-numbers-on-hair-colour-stand-for\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">number with three or four digits<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first digit is the one that determines the deepness or the level of the color, meaning how light or dark each shade is.<\/p>\n<p>According to that international table with colors, the numbers mean:<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; black<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 darkest brown<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2013 dark brown<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 medium brown<\/p>\n<p>5 \u2013 light brown<\/p>\n<p>6 \u2013 dark blonde<\/p>\n<p>7 &#8211; blonde<\/p>\n<p>8 \u2013 light blonde<\/p>\n<p>9 \u2013 lighter blonde<\/p>\n<p>10 \u2013 lightest blonde<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> As you\u2019ve seen, your current tone \u2013 dark brown \u2013 is number 3, while medium brown is number 4. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;That means when you buy your color kit, it\u2019s key that you check that number and you buy a dye that has the number \u201c4\u201d on it.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>Any dye with any other number will not work to cover dark brown hair, so don\u2019t waste your time or money on it.<\/p>\n<p>Why do I say that?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Because for example, although a level 5 dye does belong to the family of brown dyes, it is within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schwarzkopf.com\/en\/hair-color\/brown-hair\/chocolate-brown-hair-color.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">realm of chocolate browns<\/a>, which means that the color formula in the dye is different. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s why my recommendation is that if you\u2019re looking for medium brown, then you should use a level 4 dye.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Inside the color kit, you\u2019ll find peroxide, known as the developer because it is the chemical in charge of lifting your hair fibers to allow the dye\u2019s pigments to deposit in your hair.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;You should always make sure that you\u2019re using a 20 volume developer when you dye your hair because if you use a higher volume one, you will be putting your hair\u2019s health at risk. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> A 30 volume developer will lighten your hair, which is why a 20 volume developer is ideal to make sure your hair does not lighten or leave red or orange tones. <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you use a 30 volume or stronger developer, then your <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/how-to-fix-orange-roots-in-dark-brown-hair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">roots will likely end up orange<\/a> and the rest of your hair will take on an uneven, faded brown.<\/p>\n<p>Since the peroxide in the developer lightens your hair and the dye during the application process, you should never use a strong developer when applying darker shades.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to lighten your hair, step by step<\/h2>\n<p>The time has come to update your look with that medium brown you\u2019ve so desired.<\/p>\n<p>What will you need to do so?<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> A level 4 brown color kit<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Dye brush (optional) <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you have all of the materials, you can begin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Step by step<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once you have everything, the only thing left to do is apply the dye.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;It\u2019s very important that you closely follow the instructions included with the product.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to leave you with a few pieces of advice that should be useful in your application of the medium brown:<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Don\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/should-you-wash-your-hair-before-dying-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wash your hair before you dye it<\/a>; it\u2019s always better to dye dry hair.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> You can use the applicator included with the kit or a dye brush, whatever is easier for you.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Respect the time that the dye kit suggests for leaving the dye in your hair. Even if you were to <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/leave-hair-dye-in-too-long\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leave the dye in for longer<\/a> than suggested, the color won\u2019t change. There\u2019s a certain time when your hair is saturated with the pigments in the dye and it won\u2019t absorb more color. The only thing you\u2019ll achieve by leaving it in longer is leaving your hair exposed to chemicals unnecessarily.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Rinse your hair with water that\u2019s almost cold, that way your hair will cool off from the chemical process involved in dye it. Hot water can also damage the pigments in recently applied dye.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> Use the post-color treatment included in the kit, since its function is to hydrate and nurture your hair. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. Siempre me gust\u00f3 la idea de poder jugar con el cabello la infinidad de posibilidades y los cambios que genera en el autoestima de las mujeres. Siento que el cabello es el marco de la cara, lo que nos da impronta y reafirma nuestra personalidad. Desde tiempos ancestrales el cabello representa la sexualidad femenina. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no.
