They purposely choose the areas to separate so that they\u2019ll form those perfect little highlights once your stylist has used the dye over your bleached locks.<\/p>\n<p>The areas that the stylist bleaches will turn almost completely white. Does that little detail tell you something?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As highlights fade, that almost-white color starts to show through. Unfortunately, with techniques that involve bleach like highlights, you have to be very strict about maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>You should be prepared to touch up your highlights every five or six weeks.<\/strong><\/span> Religiously.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t matter if you got cap or foil highlights because the maintenance schedule is the same.<\/p>\n<p>Do you know why?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your hair grows about half an inch a month, so after 5-6 weeks, you\u2019ll have about \u00be of an inch of growth at your roots.<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;And, since you bleach your hair starting at the roots for your highlights, you\u2019ll need to touch them up to avoid your roots looking uneven or uncared for.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some of my clients that have highlights decide to touch them up every 7-8 weeks. In some people\u2019s cases, their hair doesn\u2019t grow as quickly, or they like when their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/style-beauty\/beauty\/g28971659\/shadow-root-hair-highlights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">roots look dark<\/a>. For some other people, they just don\u2019t have the time.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, the result is always the same: <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>the color of the highlights fades.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What I tell these clients is that they should at least do a color maintenance, so their highlights look as good as new. It\u2019s easy and doesn\u2019t take as long as a full touch up.<\/p>\n<p>What would that maintenance be like?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;In the salon, your hair colorist will use dye on wet hair and leave it in for 20 minutes. Then, after they rinse and dry your hair, the color will be like new. &nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>You can do this color maintenance every 3 weeks, depending on what color your highlights are. You\u2019ll need to touch up lighter colors more often than darker ones.<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your highlights are really light, then every 3 weeks would be ideal.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If your highlights are more of a medium color, you can do color maintenance every 4-5 weeks and a <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/how-often-should-you-get-highlights-redone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">total touch up every 5-6 weeks<\/a>.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My recommendation?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If your highlights are a medium color, like light brown or blonde, wait and do the full maintenance instead of going in beforehand for the color maintenance. That way your hair won\u2019t be as <a href=\"https:\/\/botoxcapilar.org\/en\/do-highlights-damage-hair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">damaged by the processes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Because we shouldn\u2019t forget that highlights are a color technique that requires bleach and your hair will suffer from the bleaching process because of the chemicals it uses.<\/p>\n<p>Now, besides color touch-ups, is there anything else you can do so your highlights\u2019 color lasts longer?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course! Every time you wash your hair with the shampoo, you\u2019ll notice that it tones your highlights a little bit. All you need to do is replace your normal shampoo with the shampoo for blonde hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Don\u2019t overuse moisturizing masks.<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you use a mask every 15 days, your hair will have all the nutrients it needs. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Siento que el cabello es el marco de la cara, lo que nos da impronta y reafirma nuestra personalidad. Desde tiempos ancestrales el cabello representa la sexualidad femenina. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Por eso el nombre se mi sal\u00f3n es Ponete Linda, ponete linda para vos siempre.
