She\u2019s one of my most loyal customers and isn\u2019t afraid of change. Some even chose to apply black 1 right away.<\/p>\n<p>For you to pick the right tone, I recommend these options to apply to the roots, keeping your base color in mind.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>If your hair is a light color:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light brown 6, you can apply a black 1<\/li>\n<li>Dark blond 7, you can apply a black 1 or dark brown 3<\/li>\n<li>Blond 8, you can apply a black 1, dark brown 3, or brown 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>If your hair is a very light color:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light blond 9, you can apply a dark brown 3 or brown 4<\/li>\n<li>Platinum blond 10, you can apply a dark brown 3, brown 4; or if you\u2019re looking for an extreme contrast, you can apply a black 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Other dye tones:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If your hair is any shade of gray, I recommend black 1.<\/li>\n<li>If your hair is a fantasy shade such as fuchsia, turquoise, or violet, I also recommend black 1 for the shadow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now, if you don\u2019t want to apply a tone as dark as black 1, you can opt for dark brown 3.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, always follow the basic rule that your root color should be 4, 5, or even 6 tones darker than the rest of your hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ffb5e8;color:#000000\">&nbsp;But it\u2019s also extremely important to know that for the shadow to be perfect, you need to apply dark dye to a maximum of three centimeters from the root.&nbsp;<\/span>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget that with this technique, you\u2019ll be able to darken your roots without touching the rest of your hair.<\/p>\n<p>Have you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revlon.com\/editorial-content\/touch-up-your-roots-with-less-mess-march-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">touched up your roots<\/a> before?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then you\u2019ll have noticed that the roots are only 1 or 2 centimeters long, and these are followed by 3 centimeters of hair that is newer than the rest.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to achieve a shadow, you should only apply dye to the roots WITHOUT TOUCHING THE REST OF YOUR HAIR.<\/p>\n<p>This point is even more important if your hair is short.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Even if the technique is the same, a shadow root in short hair must be more limited than with long hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For example:<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> If you have shoulder-length hair and you do a shadow root to your ears, your hair will be half dark and half-light.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> But if you have hair down to your waist, a shadow to your ears won\u2019t be as obvious due to the length of your hair.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order for your shadow to look perfect in short hair, don\u2019t get too excited, and respect those 1 or 2 centimeters of the root.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you know what color to choose for the shadow and where to apply it, let\u2019s see how to do the technique.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to correctly apply dye to achieve a perfect shadow root<\/h2>\n<p>Once you chose a dark dye tone, now you can start applying the technique.<\/p>\n<p>What materials do you need?<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> A dark hair dye kit.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> A rat-tail comb.<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Preparing your hair<\/h3>\n<p>As you\u2019re applying a shadow to short hair, you need to untangle your hair well. Make sure you have no knots whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend that you part your hair in the middle to expose your root and better visualize where you should apply the dye.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Preparing the mix<\/h3>\n<p>Inside the dye kit, you\u2019ll find everything you need. Now you just need to combine the developer with the bottle of dye until you get a homogenous mixture.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s always a good idea to use the applicator bottle that comes with the kit since it will help your precision when applying dye to the roots.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Applying the dye<\/h3>\n<p>This is the most important part, and although it\u2019s quite simple, take extra care here to not stain the rest of your hair.<\/p>\n<p>Apply the dye to the roots of your hair using the applicator brush, and with the help of the pointed comb, comb the dye 1 or 2 centimeters maximum, repeating this throughout the roots of your hair.<\/p>\n<p>Why should you comb the dye?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because the teeth of the comb will give a little irregularity to the line you make with the dye, making the root and rest of the hair blend together perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>This is very important since if you don\u2019t comb the dye there will be a clear line between the roots and the rest of the hair which won\u2019t achieve the effect you wanted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO NOT COMB MORE THAN 2 CENTIMETERS FROM THE ROOT SINCE YOU\u2019RE APPLYING A SHADOW ROOT TO SHORT HAIR.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When you finish applying all the dye to your roots, you should let the mix sit in your hair for about 30 to 45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4: Rinse<\/h3>\n<p>After you\u2019ve let the dye sit in your hair, rinse it with plenty of warm water and apply the post-color treatment included in your dye kit, leaving it in your hair for 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>When your hair dries, you\u2019ll see the difference and how the shadow revitalizes your short \u2018do.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>To maintain it, you should apply dark dye every time your hair grows; when your roots get to 4 or 5 centimeters, you should renew your base color.<\/p>\n<p>So, in the end, what tone will you choose to achieve a perfect dark contrast between your roots and the rest of your hair?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shadow root is one of the latest hair color trends, and I believe there are two basic reasons why. &nbsp; And of course, I didn\u2019t miss the opportunity to innovate some of my clients\u2019 looks with this technique &#8211; the ones who weren\u2019t afraid to tests the waters with something new. &nbsp; Last week, Adriana visited me at the salon. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Por eso el nombre se mi sal\u00f3n es Ponete Linda, ponete linda para vos siempre. Siempre me gust\u00f3 la idea de poder jugar con el cabello la infinidad de posibilidades y los cambios que genera en el autoestima de las mujeres. Siento que el cabello es el marco de la cara, lo que nos da impronta y reafirma nuestra personalidad. Desde tiempos ancestrales el cabello representa la sexualidad femenina. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no. En resumen, la peluquer\u00eda es mi vocaci\u00f3n y mi arte. No podr\u00eda haber hecho otra cosa en mi vida que ser estilista. Por eso el nombre se mi sal\u00f3n es Ponete Linda, ponete linda para vos siempre.
