Maria comes to my salon often to dye her hair, get highlights and do pretty radical changes to her style.<\/p>\n<p>But the last time she came into the salon, the way her hair looked surprised me. It looked like hay, kind of like what you\u2019d see on the end of a broom, both in color and texture. And, she had a lot of frizz, which made her hair difficult to detangle and brush. Plus, small bits of her hair were falling out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I asked her what had happened to her hair, she admitted that she tried to do a balayage at home, but the bleach process hadn\u2019t gone quite right.<\/p>\n<p>That was where the problem with her ends came from. Let\u2019s start by looking at what happens when you run a comb through your hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Dead ends break when you run a comb through them, while split ends shouldn\u2019t.<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That means that if you see a bunch of small bits of hair half an inch to an inch long all over your clothes, it means you have dead ends because they no longer have the right amount of moisture and break easily.<\/p>\n<p>Split ends don\u2019t break like that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Dead ends have a rough, dry texture when you touch them, split ends don\u2019t. <\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since dead ends have lost all of their moisture, they feel like the bristles on a broom, while split ends maintain their soft texture.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list milista\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-check-square-o\" style=\"color:#800080\"><\/i> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>You can\u2019t detangle dead ends when your hair is wet, while you can split ends.<\/div><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If when you try to detangle your hair while it\u2019s wet, and you see it stretching like gum, then you have dead ends.<\/p>\n<p>If you can still brush through wet hair easily, then you have split ends.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Are you still unsure? I\u2019ll tell you a stylist\u2019s secret for knowing if your ends are split or dead. It\u2019s a secret called the <em>\u201cwet hair test.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Using the wet hair test for confirming if you have split ends or dead ends<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The wet hair test is a simple procedure,<\/strong><\/span> with the objective of seeing how long it takes for your ends to dry. A todas las mujeres nos sucede que cuando estamos alegres festejamos con un cambio de look y cuando estamos en un mal momento renovamos las energ\u00edas en el sal\u00f3n. \u2022 Estudie en IAP (Instituto Argentino de peluquer\u00eda) para recibir mi t\u00edtulo de estilista en el a\u00f1o 2006. \u2022 Luego en el instituto tambi\u00e9n me especialice en colorimetr\u00eda, los colores y tonos del cabello son fundamentales para expresar lo que uno desea. \u2022 En el a\u00f1o 2015 en IAP tom\u00e9 cursos de alisado, b\u00f3tox y cauterizaci\u00f3n capilar. \u2022 Y en el a\u00f1o 2017 t\u00e9cnicas de desgastado (balayage, californianas etc). Mantenerse actualizada en las tendencias es fundamental para cualquier estilista. Cuando veo a mis clientas que ven el cabello exactamente como lo so\u00f1aban para mi es un logro personal. Me dedico especialmente a realizar cambios de look, colores fantas\u00edas, balayage, decoloraciones progresivas etc. Trabaje en varios salones, para adquirir toda la pr\u00e1ctica que necesitaba. La cadena de peluquer\u00edas \u00d3scar Colombo fue mi primer sal\u00f3n donde aprend\u00ed a interpretar a las clientas y a trabajar en equipo. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo cambie mi enfoque a looks m\u00e1s osados en Monster Style, dedic\u00e1ndome full time a color, este sal\u00f3n en particular se dedicaba a cambios extremos colores fantas\u00edas y no convencionales, me sirvi\u00f3 mucho para aprender a utilizar la gama de tonos. Hasta que finalmente decid\u00ed armar mi sal\u00f3n en la comodidad de mi casa. Mi casa le da a mis clientas la tranquilidad de tener un espacio para ellas \u00fanicamente y totalmente personal, de esta manera cada una de ellas sabe que tienen un d\u00eda para distenderse y tambi\u00e9n, porque no, hablar de sus cosas. Para mi lo m\u00e1s importante es que obtengan el resultado que esperaban, as\u00ed que siempre pido una foto de referencia para saber bien que es lo que buscan y les doy un diagn\u00f3stico realista de cuantas sesiones llevar\u00e1, el da\u00f1o en el cabello, si se puede realizar o no.
