desperate woman begs

If your hair is brittle after bleaching, do the following:

  • Step 1: Make an appointment at the salon to trim the damaged parts.
  • Step 2: Look for products to repair hair during shampooing, like REDKEN BONDING shampoo and conditioner.
  • Step 3: Apply masks every two weeks. I recommend OLAPLEX 7 BONDING OIL to my clients with brittle hair after having bleached it themselves.
  • Step 4: Stop using heat tools for three weeks. Blow-drying, flat ironing, and curling only further damage your brittle hair.
  • Step 5: Don’t bleach or color your hair with permanent dyes for at least two months. If you follow these guidelines, you’ll stop your hair loss from breakage in the first week.

I could tell you that bleaching is the most aggressive chemical process you can apply to your hair. I could tell you to avoid bleaching your hair at home if you’re inexperienced. I could tell you a thousand things, but now it’s time for action.

You’ll have time to think about it. Now you need to follow this plan to fix your brittle hair after bleaching.

Shall we get started?

Step 1: Make an appointment at your salon to remove the most damaged parts of your bleached hair

The sooner you take action, the easier you’ll fix your brittle hair.

The stylist will trim the parts of your hair that can’t be repaired. It’s usually the ends and a few centimeters of the lengths.

Why is it important to remove those parts that have no solution? Your hair will recover faster with the nutrients from the hair follicles to the healthy ends.

You don’t need to shave your hair or cut it too short. You can choose a layered cut to maintain some length in your hair.

Step 2: Use good quality shampoo and conditioner

We can’t negotiate here. If your shampoo and conditioner contain sulfates, they’ll dry out your hair and increase breakage. The situation is the same if you use regular shampoo or conditioner.

I have nothing against cheap shampoos and conditioners. But this is about fixing brittle hair after bleaching.

This is no time to skimp on a few bucks.

Also,   to stop breakage, you need products with Bonding technology. They strengthen the bonds weakened during the chemical bleaching process.

Let me give you an example.

Imagine that each strand of your hair is a chain and the links are strong and healthy. But they oxidize with rain and exposure to the weather. Therefore, the connections weaken and could break.

What could you do to prevent this?

You could use an anti-rust fluid to minimize the damage and some oil to minimize friction. You’ll prevent the links from breaking.

In this case, you should use a product that prevents your hair from breaking. That’s why products with Bonding technology are ideal. I always recommend REDKEN BONDING shampoo and conditioner to my clients.

When you wash your hair, the Bonding technology will reinforce the most damaged links within your hair fiber to repair the damaged parts. After a few washes, you’ll notice that hair breakage has noticeably decreased.

Remember to wash your hair up to   three times a week.

Step 3: Apply masks every two weeks

Olaplex 7 oilThe best product is Olaplex 7 Bonding Oil, which also has BONDING technology. It’s an oil that reinforces the internal molecular bonds of your hair.

In the first application, you’ll stop the breakage almost completely. In the second application, you’ll reinforce the bonds so that your hair fiber will finish healing.

You should apply this mask every two weeks until the breakage stops. I can assure you that you won’t need more than two applications. After that, you can continue to use it once a month.

If you can’t find this product or can’t afford it, you can apply keratin masks However, they will be less effective. Anyways, it’s better to apply a keratin mask than nothing at all.

Step 4: Don’t use heat tools for three weeks

Forget the blow dryer, flat iron, and curling iron.   This isn’t an option.

Remember that your hair has collapsed. The bleaching process damaged your hair so much that it has broken it. When hair breaks, it falls out. And when it falls out, it decreases the volume of your mane. If you don’t do something to stop it, you can lose a lot of hair.

The heat from styling tools strips the hair of moisture. When hair loses moisture, breakage increases.

Step 5: Avoid bleaching or dyeing your hair with permanent hair dye for at least two months.

Bleaching your brittle hair would be crazy. So, I’m assuming you’re not even thinking about it.

Concerning coloring your hair, I recommend that you   eliminate permanent dyes from the list,  | as they contain peroxide and ammonia, which will only increase the breakage of your hair.

If you want to color your bleached hair, you can use semi-permanent hair color, while you fix the breakage. This type of coloring does not contain ammonia and is not applied with a developer.

Conclusions

If your hair is brittle after bleaching, you need to take immediate action to stop breakage.

With this five-step plan, you can fix your brittle hair and stop hair loss.
