The truth is that the only difference is that box dyes come in kits. The box includes everything you need to color your hair: the developer, dye, gloves, and post-color treatment.

 

On the other hand, professional dyes don’t include all the elements. So, you need to buy the developer, gloves, and a plastic container to color your hair.

In many cases, professional dyes can be more expensive than box dyes.

That could help you make your choice.

 

However,   if you have no coloring experience, I recommend you use a black box dye

Also, after rinsing the dye out, apply a post-color treatment and maintain a weekly moisturizing routine.

That’s great news! The 10-volume developer damages your hair much less than the 20-vol.

L’Oréal offers several lines of professional hair colors. In my salon, I work with the Inoa and Majirel lines. Both are excellent, but I recommend the Majirel line for extra duration.

 

  It lasts eight weeks   and its consistency is very creamy. It also contains natural oils and amino acids. Therefore, it’ll add moisture to your hair.

You may notice that your hair hardens during the process, but don’t panic. Your hair will return to normal as soon as you rinse the dye out.

 

Conclusions

Both box and professional black hair dyes last six to eight weeks. Remember to use sulfate-free conditioning shampoos to protect the color.

Also, apply heat protectant before using a flat iron or blow dryer.
